Metrology lab

We chose to invest in an advanced metrology lab. We see it as a strategic decision: we want to keep product quality constantly under control, internally and at all times. Heat treatments such as quenching or our exclusive NITREG ONC process alter the surface properties of steel, and verifying their effectiveness requires the right tools. Doing this in-house, without relying on external labs, means saving time, avoiding errors, and — above all — maintaining full control over the production process. The inspection of raw materials, which sometimes have special characteristics or are selected based on specific customer requirements, is equally critical: at Europress, we can perform every necessary check even before starting production. For NITREG ONC, we closely monitor the protective layer and corrosion resistance, ensuring long-lasting and consistent performance. Our technicians work daily to verify the quality and reliability of our products. To guarantee this, our lab is equipped with: – 3D measuring machine – for dimensional analysis of finished parts and in-process samples – Hardness tester – to measure the hardness of raw materials and treated components – 200-ton load cell – to verify the actual force of hydraulic components – Microscope and microhardness tester – for microstructural inspection after NITREG ONC treatment – Roughness tester – for surface finish checks on critical elements – Master digital pressure gauges (0.05% accuracy) – for calibrating internal and customer gauges – Certified metrology instruments – gauge blocks, calibrated rods, ring gauges – Dedicated analysis software – to interpret results from thermochemical treatments
Our technology for an arch bridge

During the strengthening of the new Teodorico Railway Overpass in Ravenna, CMF hollow cylinders and high‑pressure PN pumps were used to install and tension the tie rods connecting the deck to the arches. An efficient solution offering significant technical benefits: precise alignment of tie rods and strands; reduced invasiveness of drilling and anchorage systems; constant monitoring of tensioning parameters; guarantee of long‑term durability and reliability This project is a significant example of how specialized technologies can be applied in arch bridge strengthening, ensuring the long‑term functionality and safety of load‑bearing structures.
Europress is now a Registered exporter (REX)

We are proud to announce that Europress is now a Registered exporter (REX). This means that for shipments to countries with preferential trade agreements with the EU, we can directly declare the origin of our goods on invoices — allowing our customers to benefit from reduced or zero customs duties, speeding up customs clearance and improving cost efficiency. A further step towards making business with us easier and more advantageous for our international partners. We keep moving fast, always by our customers’ side!
BAT

In bolting, hydraulic wrenches are not enough. You need a hydraulic system. At Europress, with the products of the BAT series, our registered trademark acronym of Bolting Advanced Technologies, we respond to your needs. Technical products, designed to support those who work with critical preloads and bolting in the railway, energy, industrial and naval sectors. The leading products are certainly bolt tensioners, hydraulic nuts and power packs for torque wrenches that we design and produce entirely in Carasco. They are compact, powerful and reliable, able to guarantee total control of pressure, time and repeatability, even on multi-output configurations. In a world where you can’t go wrong, BAT is the answer with all the Europress engineering.
Training

In 2024, we delivered approximately 200 hours of technical training: 110 at our production site in Carasco, where customers can interact directly with our specialized technicians, and 90 hours on site, working alongside operators in real application settings. The training focused on strategic topics for the safe and efficient use of our solutions, especially on large construction sites and in advanced applications such as weighing systems or special equipment. The approach was geared not only toward correct installation, but also toward analyzing operating conditions and preventing failures. Participants were provided with the essential skills to identify anomalies, carry out diagnostic tests, and apply the correct maintenance procedures, in line with rigorous standards. Particular attention was given to dealers and service partners: training support personnel means ensuring prompt and reliable responses in every geographic area. A hydraulic tool can only perform at its best if the user fully understands its dynamic behavior under pressure, its safety logic, and its requirements for periodic inspection. We thank all the customers who believed in this path and in our philosophy: selling technology is important, but sharing expertise is what truly makes the difference.
Shove Test

The Shove Test is an extremely important test for evaluating the shear resistance of mortar joints in existing masonry. It is carried out on-site on historic buildings or those damaged by seismic events, and it is crucial for designing targeted consolidation interventions. To obtain reliable data, absolute control over the applied force is required. This is where EuroPress hydraulic components come into play. The manual pumps serie PNP, compact and easy to handle, generates the necessary pressure with great precision. Its lightweight structure makes it ideal for on-site operations, even in tight spaces. The hydraulic cylinders serie CMI, made with high-strength steels treated with Nitreg ONC®, guarantees minimal dimensions and total insensitivity to corrosion. It is the tool that transmits the force to the masonry, enabling accurate measurement of the joint’s breaking threshold. During the shove test, the cylinder progressively applies pressure on the joint while force and behavior are recorded until failure, providing essential data for the consolidation project. Relying on EuroPress means having tools that ensure reliability, precision, and repeatability, three essential elements for those who work every day on the safety of the building heritage.
From water to oil: birth of oleodynamics

Today when we say high pressure hydraulics we mean oil but in the beginning it was water. In the earliest hydraulic systems, dating back to the 19th century, water was the fluid used to transmit pressure. It worked, of course, but it was not ideal: it was corrosive to metals, froze in winter, evaporated easily under stress. And above all, it did not lubricate. It was in the early decades of the twentieth century that mechanical engineering began to move towards mineral oils, initially adopted in the automotive industry and then in heavy industry. More thermally stable, less aggressive, with natural lubricating properties, oils radically transformed the application possibilities of the technology. Pascal’s law — which has governed all this since 1647 — was the same. What changed was the fluid. And it is thanks to this step that hydraulics was born, capable of operating today at 700, 1000, even 4000 bar. In lifting, bolting, pushing, testing. Wherever there is a need for control.
Tunneling

In the world of tunneling, every meter and every labor day gained are an achievement in terms of strength, precision and project success. In these complex environments, where space is limited and operating conditions are often challenging, high-pressure hydraulics become an essential support tool. EuropressPack is active in this sector with solutions designed to meet the specific needs of construction sites: starting from cylinders, capable of operating at forces ranging from 500 to 1000 tons, like COS double acting and COF hollow cylinders to the our Modular Power-packs, which are compact, reliable, and available with electric or gasoline-powered motors, also available in ATEX version. These systems are crucial for segment positioning, cutter head maintenance, and temporary structural support during excavation. The Nitreg ONC treatment, which is a standard for the EPP products, ensures superior resistance to corrosion and wear, making our products also suitable for the most critical and moisture contexts typical of tunnel construction sites.

Depressurization

In the world of high-pressure hydraulics, 700 bar is not a joke. Depressurizing is always a matter of safety: that’s why every construction site should be equipped with a KST38 depressurizer from Europress. – For operator safety. Opening a pressurized coupling can cause fluid injection under the skin: a serious, potentially fatal injury. The depressurizer allows for controlled discharge, preventing accidents. – For system safety. A sudden discharge can damage hoses, seals, and components. The KST38 prevents water hammer and mechanical stress, preserving system reliability and avoiding serious and costly damage. – To facilitate disconnection. A pressurized coupling may be impossible to disconnect manually, as pressure keeps the components tightly joined. The depressurizer reduces pressure to zero, making disconnection easy and damage-free. – To protect the environment. Opening a coupling without depressurizing can cause high-velocity oil spray, posing serious risks of pollution and environmental contamination.
